Graduation

I seem to struggle with this post.
I always have such an amazing time running Roux Camp, sharing my love and passion for horses and introducing the world of horses to new faces.

I'll start by telling you that on Graduation day, my students know what is expected of them. They complete their routine chores and prep for some learning about partnership by taking a deeper look at the Parelli methods, the 7 games, as well as looking at Buck Brannaman and watching pieces of his documentary, "Buck".

We usually have a deep conversation regarding the importance of teaching our horses a job in order to preserve them from a sad fate of slaughter that some horses face because of over population and not enough education both for horse and owner/rider/partner. It always amazes me how compassionate these students already are entering my program, but by the end they have a pretty good idea how they are going to help the horses in their future.

Here is some more information about what we finish our program with:

Buck Brannaman: http://www.buckthefilm.com/ - great movie to watch with the whole family!

There are also so many other great horse and people trainers waiting to take our students to the next level. I utilize the teachings of these two because I think they have a lot more inner peace with humans to offer and a great way of looking at yourself when you are working with your horse.

Our students got to dictate the rest of the afternoon. They choose to prepare for a show and play some games with the horses.

Congratulations Roux Camp class of August 2012!

"The horse is a mirror to your soul. Sometimes you might not like what you see. Sometimes you will." Buck Brannaman
